The best games are often those which break from previous themes for a totally new gaming experience. Touches like these give this game a ton of personality. You have the same ones that the other versions of the game has, but when a monster attacks here it is freaking Bowser and that is awesome! You can even get a special Gold Mario statue for your city if you are playing the game right. One of the most awesome things about this game is the disasters. This guy will teach you as you play, but many of you gamers today will probably recognize him as an assist trophy from Super Smash Bros.

It is certainly one of the aspects I like better about this version of the game than the PC port it is based on. I like how the buildings have a more “Japanese” look to them than the other versions of the game had at the time. East Meets WestĪs Nintendo developed this version of SimCity themselves, it has a kind of different look to the other versions of the game. If you have played any version of the early Sim games before, you will know what to expect here. Much of what you learn as you go about the game will be from trial and error, but that is not a bad thing at all. This ranges from putting in houses, policing, power plants, hospitals, roads, power lines, and so on. You are in charge of pretty much every aspect of the city. The ultimate goal is to reach the status of megalopolis which you do when you get 500,000 residents. You are tasked with building up a city from the ground up and having it run smoothly and the citizens being as happy as possible. When you really get down to it, SimCity for the SNES is the same game as all the other ports. While this may have some of that Nintendo charm sprinkled all over it.

It was also one of the handful of launch titles that were released on the Super Nintendo when the console entered the market in the West. First of all, this was developed by Nintendo themselves. It has been released on pretty much anything capable of playing a video game over the years, but this SNES version is something very special.
